When you open a new Slide Deck, the first slide will automatically appear as the title slide.
To add more slides:
Press Enter in the slides panel
Right-click on a slide and choose +New Slide or Duplicate Slide
Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + M
Click the + (new slide) button at top right
To arrange slides:
In the slides panel, drag the slide to the location you want it
Right-click on the slide and click Move slide to beginning or Move slide to end.
To change the layout of a slide:
Right-click on the slide and navigate to Apply layout. Choose the layout you want for the slide
When adding a new slide, click the + (new slide) with the dropdown arrow. Choose the layout you want and it will insert a new slide with that layout.

Right-click to choose the slide layout
To change the theme in Google Slides:
In the top navigation bar, click Slide -> Change theme
You will see a list of themes displayed in the right-side panel.
Browse through the available themes and click on one that you like.
The theme will be applied to your presentation.
You can also click Import Theme to choose a theme from another Slide Deck in your Drive
To add a picture in Google Slides:
In the top navigation bar, click Insert -> Image OR click the image button in the toolbar
You have the following options to add an image:
Choose an image from your Google Drive or Photos
Upload an image from your computer.
Search for an image using Google's image search or URL
Select the image you want to add.
The image will appear on your slide and you can move, resize or crop it as needed.
You can also drag and drop an image from your computer directly onto the slide to add it.
Option 1: Click on the picture icon in the toolbar

To change the background in Google Slides:
Right-click on the slide and select Change background OR click on Background in the top navigation bar.
You can choose a solid color, a gradient color, or an image for the background.
If you select Image, you have the following options:
Choose an image from your Google Drive.
Upload an image from your computer.
Search for an image using Google's image search.
Paste the URL of an image.
Select the option you prefer.
The background will be changed for the selected slide.
Note: If you want to change the background for all slides, right-click on the slide, select "Change background," and then click on the "Apply to all slides" option.
To add transitions to Google Slides:
Click on the Transitions option in the top navigation bar OR navigate to Slide -> Transition
You will see a list of transitions displayed in the right-side panel.
Browse through the available transitions and click on one that you like.
The transition will be added to the selected slide.
Note: You can also adjust the transition duration, add sound to the transition, and set the transition to advance automatically in the right-side panel. To apply the transition to all slides, select the desired slide, then click on the "Apply to all slides" option in the right-side panel.
To add animations to Google Slides:
Select the object (e.g., text box, shape, image, etc.) that you want to animate.
Click on the Animations option in the top navigation bar OR Insert -> Animation
You will see a list of animations displayed in the right-side panel.
Browse through the available animations and click on one that you like.
The animation will be added to the selected object.
Note: You can also adjust the animation duration, add sound to the animation, and set the animation to start automatically in the right-side panel. To add more animations to the same object or to another object, repeat the process. To remove an animation, select the object and click on the "Remove animation" option in the right-side panel.
Editing the master slides (also known as theme builder) allows you to edit the slides & slides layout in your presentation, including background, font, font size, color, placeholders, and more. You can edit the master slide, which will change every slide in your presentation, or you can edit slide layouts, which will change the slides using that particular layout.
To edit the master slides in Google Slides:
Click on View -> Theme Builder
You will see a list of master slides displayed on the left-side panel.
Select the master slide you want to edit.
Make the desired changes to the layout, background, text, images, etc.
The changes you make to the master slide will be reflected on all slides that use that master slide.
Note: To return to the normal view, click the X in the theme builder view.
Google Slides has updated the Master slide view in the previous view to be Theme Builder. Look for Theme Builder under View instead of Master.
To link between slides in Google Slides:
Select the object (e.g., text, shape, image, etc.) that you want to use as the link.
Right-click on the object and select Link. You can also use the link symbol on the top toolbar or use the shortcut Ctrl + K
In the Link dialog box, select Slides in this Presentation. Choose the slide you want to link to from the dropdown menu.
Note: You can also link to a specific section in the same presentation or to a website. To remove a link, right-click on the linked object, select Link, and then click Remove link.
To insert a video in Google Slides:
Click Insert -> Video
You will have the following options to insert the video:
Select a video from your Google Drive.
Search for a video using Google's video search.
Enter the YouTube video link.
Select the option you prefer.
The video will be inserted on the selected slide.
Note: You can also adjust the size and position of the video by dragging its borders or corners. To play the video during the presentation, click on the video to start it. To stop the video, click on it again. To remove the video, select it and press Delete key.
You can format the video to play on click, play automatically, or play manually. You can also choose a portion of the video to play by putting the start and end times.
