Creating labels in Gmail is a useful way to organize your inbox and keep your emails sorted. Here are the steps to create labels in Gmail:
Find the Manage Labels section on the left-hand side of the page.
Click Create new label.
You can also create a new label in the Manage Labels settings
Enter a name for the label in the Please enter a new label name field.
Choose whether to nest the label under an existing label by selecting the Nest label under checkbox and choosing the appropriate parent label from the dropdown menu. You do not have to nest a label under anything if you do not want to.
Click Create to create the label.
Your new label will now appear in the Labels section of your Gmail account, and you can use it to organize your emails. To apply a label to an email, simply click on the email to open it, then click the Labels button at the top of the screen and select the appropriate label. You can also create filters in Gmail to automatically apply labels to specific types of emails, based on sender, subject, or other criteria.
When Priority Inbox is chosen, emails are automatically split into three sections: important and unread, starred, and everything else.
To turn on your priority inbox:
In Gmail, click on Settings in the top right.
Scroll down to Inbox Type and select Priority Inbox
You have the option to customize your Priority Inbox settings
Choose the inbox sections you want to show and then click Save Changes
Starring emails marks them as important. To star an email:
In your inbox, click the star to the left of the message
If the email is open, click on the star in the top right corner
To search starred emails (if priority inbox isn’t selected), click Starred on the left side of the page
Filtering emails in Gmail is a great way to keep your inbox organized and make it easier to find specific messages. Here are the steps to filter emails in Gmail:
Open an email message (similar to the items you want to filter) or click in the search bar and click show search options.
In an email message, click on More Actions (3 dot dropdown button), then select Filter messages like these
Enter the specific search criteria, such as whether to include or exclude certain keywords, whether to search in the subject or body of the email, or other options.
Click the Create filter button to save the filter.
Once you've created a filter, Gmail will automatically apply it to any new emails that meet the filter criteria.
Gmail has a feature that allows you to unsend an email up to 30 seconds after you send it. Be sure that you don't click on another page or this feature disappears.
To Undo Send an email:
Navigate to your Gmail Settings
Under the General tab, navigate to Undo Send
Choose your time for the cancellation period (up to 30 seconds)
Whenever you send an email, a small pop-up will show that says Message sent Undo or View message. Click on the undo button and the email will appear back in the draft navigation.
Scheduling the sending of an email in Gmail is a useful feature that allows you to compose an email and then schedule it to be sent at a later time. Here are the steps to schedule the sending of an email in Gmail:
Compose a new email as you normally would in Gmail.
Click on the small arrow next to the Send button at the bottom of the email window.
Select Schedule send from the dropdown menu.
Choose one of the preset scheduling options, such as Tomorrow morning or Next week or click Pick date & time to choose a specific date and time for the email to be sent.
Select the desired date and time for the email to be sent.
Click Schedule send to schedule the email to be sent at the chosen date and time.
The scheduled email will now be saved to your Drafts folder and will be sent automatically at the scheduled time. You can also view or modify the scheduled email by clicking on the Scheduled label in the left-hand menu of your Gmail account. From there, you can make any necessary changes to the email or even cancel the scheduled sending if needed.
