Navigate to the toolbar at the top to change:
Font Type (heading, title, normal text, etc.)
Font Style
Font Size
Formatting (bold, italics, underline, color, and highlight)
Insert links (URL or other Google Items)
Change alignment
Change line & paragraph spacing
Add checklists, bullets
A hyperlink is a link to a web address (URL). Hyperlinks in Google Docs can be to a specific URL, another Google Doc (or slide, sheet, etc.) or to specific headings within the document. The options are shown below:
1️⃣Insert Link
Highlight the text you want to become a hyperlink.
Click insert link button in the toolbar OR right-click the highlighted text and click link OR use the Ctrl + K shortcut
Add the URL in the link field
Click Apply
2️⃣Hyperlink to Other Google Doc/Slides/Sheet etc.
Highlight the text you want to become a hyperlink.
Click insert link button in the toolbar OR right-click the highlighted text and click link OR use the Ctrl + K shortcut
In the search bar, begin typing the name of the file
Click on the name of the file and it will be inserted as a hyperlink
Headers appear in the top margin while the footers appear in the bottom margin of the document. This text will appear on each page of the document.
To insert:
Click insert, then go to headers & footers dropdown menu. Select header or footer.
Type your text & hit the Esc key or click onto the document
Page number or page count can be added into the header or footer.
Insert a page break to break up pages in text without clicking enter.
To insert:
Click insert, then go to the break drop-down menu. Select page break.
Find and Replace allows you to find and replace words. This can be used in Docs, Slides, or Sheets.
Click edit in the menu
Click find and replace at the bottom of the drop-down.
Type the word you want to find.
Type the word you want to replace it with.
You have the option to replace one or replace all instances of the word.
