Throughout the year our school works closely with Little Portions Food Pantry. Students participate in service learning by bringing in items needed for the food pantry, as well as moving the donations from the school to the pantry location. This project allows students to see the food pantry process come full circle; from donations coming in, to moving the donations, and now to food distribution.
Objective/Expected Outcomes: Through research and hands on experience, students will create an advertisement for our Blessed Sacrament Church Little Portions Food Pantry Distribution.
Description: Students will research the operating systems of a local food pantry by visiting our food pantry and meeting with the administration to gather information and ask questions. After accessing previous advertising videos and media, students will develop their own advertisements. Students will determine a unique method in which to inform the community of its benefits; assess the means by which to staff volunteers to run the operation and create a digital marketing tool that can be used on social media to advertise the Little Portions Food Pantry for distribution in December.
Materials Needed: Chromebooks, Google Slides, canva.com, YouTube, field trip set up.
