If you clicked on this page - THANK YOU! ☺️ I always so appreciate anyone willing to help get things ready for our classroom or work with our kiddos! We are hopeful that you will join our school as a volunteer. In order to enhance a safe environment for all, you will need to complete a background check.

Secure Volunteer is an online system created to help organizations manage volunteering screening. SecureVolunteer is powered by Background Investigation Bureau (BIB), a nationally recognized screening firm founded in 1955. The BIB is PCI Certified, with safeguards to protect personal data and credit card information. Secure Volunteer is easy to use - just visit the website and follow the steps! It only takes about five minutes to complete and is a secure portal.

You will receive notifications via email about status and approval. Approved volunteers also receive a Secure Volunteer ID card, which you should bring with you to all volunteer events. All volunteers (grades K-5) must have an approved background check in order to help in our schools (help in classroom, field trips, eat lunch with student, help in building, field day, etc). If you are visiting for a school event/assembly, you don’t need a required background check.

#2. Follow the link to the Secure Volunteer site to initiate your required background screen.

#3. Click on “I want to volunteer!”

#4. Follow the rest of the directions.

#5. The fee is $13.95 for a valid check that is good for three years.

#6. Our school will be notified of your approval within two business days.

We can't accept other types of background checks as we must be consistent with BIB. Our office will have a list of approved volunteers in case you forget to bring the Secure Volunteer ID card. 

Mrs. Stephens and I work as a team, we and are incredibly appreciative of parents who are willing to donate their time to our classrooms. We have a lot of busy-teacher-work and are often planning student projects that require an extra hand. Often, what volunteers do for one classroom, they do for the other classroom. You will just hear us say, “times two”! If you’d like to volunteer for a weekly or monthly time, please feel free to write your name on the calendars outside of the classroom. Also, you can send an email if your schedule frees up and you’d like to come in. If for some reason I do not have something for you to make or prepare, I am always happy to have you pull some kiddos to read with! :)
