Email and Parent Square are quick and easy ways to stay in contact. Often, I’ve had a student upset about forgetting lunch or not remembering if they are a pickup after school, and a quick message to mom or dad reassures them. Or, if you are confused about anything your child reports at home, a few messages back and forth usually clear up the questions! :)
I will send much classroom information via each of these methods, including weekly newsletters and information about special events. I do check and respond to messages during each school day. However, it is best that changes in end –of- day schedules are reported to our office staff as the end of the day is usually very busy.
Always feel free to call me with questions and/or concerns. We can schedule a phone conference via email or Parent Square and talk before or after the school day!
Each day, your child will write down the math lesson we completed for the day (Ex: 1-2, 5-3, etc.) and/or a brief sentence about something we are learning. You do not need to sign the agenda, but please take a look at it each night so that you can help your child make sure their homework gets done. It also serves as a great opportunity for you to talk to them about their day!
Each child will receive an Eagle Folder for daily use. Your child will bring homework, assessments, flyers, permission slips, etc. in his or her Eagle Folder. Also, feel free to send notes, lunch money, or any other information to school using your child’s Eagle Folder. The Eagle Folder comes to school and goes home daily.
We will discuss your child's progress during a conference at the close of the first nine-weeks. Conference times are scheduled via SignUpGenius. (In-person or virtual available unless you are otherwise notified). Our Parent-Teacher Conference serves as your child’s first report card for the first nine weeks. No paper or digital copy will be provided. So, it is very important we discuss your child’s progress and learning goals.
Parents will receive a paper report card at the end of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters. Your family will receive a mailed, paper copy of your first grader's final report card at the end of the school year.
