This software can help you calculate figures, produce graphs, organize content, etc. Not the easiest to use for collaboration, so if you need something for a group project, you may want to consider using Google Sheets.
PowerPoint is a presentation software, similar to Google Slides, but with more features for formulas, formatting, and layout. This software can help you present figures, graphs, content, etc. Not the easiest to use for collaboration, so if you need something for a group project, you may want to consider using Google Slides. Need a video? Use your regular powerpoint with Screen-Cast-O-Matic instead of embedding audio on the slides.

Why PDF?
The reason to convert a PowerPoint to a PDF is simple, the formatting will remain the same on all computers. Therefore, if you have a paper assigned in APA format, using PDF may create a more consistent view between instructor and student.

This will eliminate a huge amount of paper, and also give you the opportunity to write notes beside the slide. You can also print the handout front and back to eliminate even more paper.
