In response to feedback from TIA-eligible teachers—both through our recent stakeholder survey and direct email input—the district has made an important update to the TIA designation process.
Beginning this year, the teacher attendance clause will be removed from the TIA eligibility criteria. Designations will now be based exclusively on:
TTESS Summative Average (Domains 2 and 3)
Student Growth Percentage
This change reflects the consistent message we heard from our educators: focus on student outcomes and classroom instruction, with a fair and standardized approach to evaluation.
Each year, we will:
Correlate and analyze data across the district
Apply state value-added growth measures
Ensure alignment for data validation and full approval by the state
These steps ensure that the system remains equitable and rigorous across all grade levels and subject areas.
Once local validation is complete, all TIA-eligible teachers will receive the finalized data. As in previous years, teachers will have the opportunity to vote on any proposed changes to growth percentage thresholds before they are finalized.
The revised TIA Guidebook reflecting this change will be published soon and made available on the district website.
