Mandatory Trainings
How to Complete Your Required Training
Training modules are located in Workday. You may complete the training either in a Zoom session or self-paced workday module. Chairs and directors may also coordinate an in-person or Zoom training for your entire department.
All CSAs are required by law to complete this training by Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Please direct questions and inquiries to Margaret Marisi, Brown University Department of Public Safety at clery@brown.edu.
Did you know that all faculty are designated Clery Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) under the law?
The Clery Act is a federal law that, among other provisions, requires colleges and universities to compile and publish crime statistics for their campuses, surrounding areas, and other properties that they own, control, or lease and provide timely crime warnings and emergency notifications.
What are your reporting obligations as a CSA and how can you learn more?
You are required to attend an annual training which will provide an overview of the Clery Act and information on your reporting obligations as a CSA.
CSAs are required to immediately report Clery crimes, which occur in Clery geography, to the Brown University Department of Public Safety.
