Creative Arts and
Technology Spaces @BAI

Who we Are

The Creative Arts and Technology Spaces (or CATS, 🐈‍⬛ , for short ) @ the Brown Arts Institute provide the campus community with inclusive, adaptive, and experimental spaces equipped with emerging technology to support creative digital work. We embrace thinking through making as a powerful approach to design and learning.

WHAT we Do

We facilitate video production, music recording, podcasting, fine art printing, 3D printing, virtual reality, electronics, vinyl and laser cutting, sewing, and much more. Our goal is to lower the barrier of entry to these technologies for creatives by providing access to equipment, software, and spaces to work.

HOW TO JOIN

CATS spaces and services are open to all Brown students, staff, and faculty. New users must complete our quick, online orientation, after which you will gain access to the multimedia labs. Some spaces and equipment require additional training. Please use website to learn more about those requirements.
