We want our children to be confident, kind and be able to make the right choices in their behaviour and treatment of others.
Check in Circle Time:
Daily “Circle Time” with your household (could be done on Facetime with other family) to check-in with your child, ask what their well being is and pose a question to them.
Board Games:
Play board games - make sure that they don’t always win! If no board games are available, then noughts and crosses or dots and boxes are great too!
Talent Show:
Put on a talent show, where your household could take in turns to show a talent (singing, telling a joke, dancing) to promote confidence and self-worth.
Keep in Touch:
Keep in touch with friends or family (send them a letter, picture or a card to let them know you are thinking of them).
Emotions:
Draw faces showing different emotions - discuss how they are feeling.
TV Questioning:
When reading a story, or watching a programme on TV, pause and ask your child how that character is feeling and do you think they could do anything differently.
End of the day Circle:
Ask your child to tell you one amazing thing that they have done each day, at bedtime, for self-esteem.
