Do a daily show and tell.
At the dinner table ask about the highlights of the day - model more complex sentences using the word because. Ask Who? Where? What? Why? Questions
After watching a programme on TV, ask your child 4 key events that happened. What do they think would happen next? Could they create their own episode, verbally, with you? Draw pictures to make a storyboard.
If your children make something, ask them how they did it? Why did they choose that method? What they did and why? Extend by asking if they could do it in a different way next time? How could they make it even better?
