Microplastics go through water treatment plants, which lead them to the ocean. This is also a problem for the people of Brookings because it harms the fishing industry.

Some people would say that Brookings is a very beautiful place, but here there are a lot of problems. The views are nice and there are pretty things that you can go see and do in our town. But Brookings does have a very bad drug problem and that hurts our town.

Highway 101 has garbage filling all sides of the streets. Tents are hitched up in every place you look. In Brookings, Oregon there are beautiful landscapes, but what people don't look at is the amount of help that people living on the streets need.

The impact of low income on Brookings families

Low income can have serious effects on an individual's mental health and can sometimes lead to substance abuse. For example, if someone is struggling with low income, they could be a parent working multiple jobs to get by, or it could be a younger individual getting paid minimum wage struggling to keep their head up.

Drunk Driving

Drunk driving is an issue for Brookings and many other towns and cities. The number of people that die from drunk driving is astronomical. People don't understand how dangerous drunk driving can be. Residents of Brookings should take this problem seriously.

There are limited things to do in town. Some people might have things to do or people to hang out with, though other people might not be as lucky. People like to do their own kinds of things, but if there are no places for someone to go and enjoy what they like, it's kind of difficult to have fun.
