• The Finger Guard: Keep fingers at least two inches away from the needle at all times.

• Pace Control: Use a "slow and steady" foot pedal speed. No "flooring it."

• Maintenance: Never sew over pins; pull them out before the needle reaches them to avoid broken needles or flying metal.

• Power Down: Turn the machine off when threading the needle or changing the bobbin.
