There are networked PC’s on site for student use. Following enrolment all students are given a student number and password this allows you to log into all core University systems including email, virtual learning site (Moodle) and Student Information pages, where you can change this password to something more memorable to you. (This will need to be 12 characters long and contain upper and lower case letters, numbers and a symbol.) Once logged in you will find guidance for a strong password within the 'password' section.
Once you have your user account and password - these remain your Brookes credentials for the duration of your relationship with the University.
Google Chromebooks are internet based laptops that are set up to connect to the Brookes network. They are available to borrow for free from the Swindon Library. You will need your student ID card.
The Self-Service cabinets have clear instructions on how to use them. Once you have scanned your card, the cabinet will tell you which drawer to take the laptop from. Please remember when returning, to plug the power cable back in. Until this is done, you will remain logged as the borrower.
*Chromebooks only connect to the Brookes network and will not work if you are not on site.
Wifi is free on site – students will need to register with Eduroam. To log into Google and eduroam you need to add @brookes.ac.uk after your user account number e.g. 123456789@brookes.ac.uk (students)
Swindon has an IT service desk in the library which is manned on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Alternatively IT services can be contacted on 01865 483311
