Wifi upgrade project

Through the feedback we've received we know how important Wifi quality is to our students. We are in the middle of a major Wifi upgrade project. Due to the impacts this work causes we have to be careful when we carry out this work.

Upgraded buildings include: NHHB, PBW, Clerici, Buckley, Lloyd and Sinclair

The John Henry Brookes Building is to be upgraded in early 2026 with other sites and buildings to follow.

Adobe Creative Cloud

From October 2025 Oxford Brookes became an Adobe Creative Campus. All our students have access to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

All students can use service such as Adobe Express to create high quality presentations, posters and video with this feature rich and easy to use technology.

AWS Academy

AWS Academy provides ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum that prepares students to pursue industry-recognized certifications and in-demand cloud jobs.

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences has Masters courses embedding AWS skills in to their curriculums in the disciplines of Business, Marketing, Analytics and Finance.

Zoom phones and AI Companion

To improve the quality of our phone contact centres Zoom phones have been deployed across our estate.

Zoom's AI Companion is integrated into Zoom Phones, helping staff manage calls efficiently and improves the responsiveness in our phone contact centres.

Gemini

Students can use it as a personalized study partner for Guided Learning, generating custom practice quizzes, outlining essays, and summarizing complex texts.

Staff use Gemini to streamline administrative tasks like drafting communications, grant proposals, and generating lesson plans or rubrics in minutes. It's a secure, responsible tool designed to save hours of work, allowing educators to focus on impactful teaching.

Students: Personalized study, research, and instant explanations.

Staff: Draft emails, lesson plans, and project outlines instantly.

Copilot

Students can leverage Copilot within Word to structure essays, improve academic writing. It acts as a powerful knowledge aggregator, helping to refine research questions and brainstorm project ideas quickly.

For staff, Copilot streamlines workflows and can support the analysis of data in Excel and it can help create PowerPoint presentations. It reduces time spent on repetitive tasks, empowering educators and administrators to focus on strategic goals and student support.

Students: Essay structuring, writing refinement, lecture summaries.

Staff: Office assistant, data analysis, instant presentations.

Notebook LM

NotebookLM transforms your own materials. Notes, documents, PDFs, and links can be made into interactive study guides. Students can upload course readings to generate personalised Flashcards, Quizzes, and Audio Overviews for revision using the sources they want to use.

For staff, NotebookLM can create instant lesson plans, course overviews, and summaries of academic papers, reducing prep time.

Students: Custom quizzes, flashcards, source-grounded research, audio summaries.
Staff: Instant lesson plans, academic summaries, collaborative course design.
