The BCSS All School Camp Out is a volunteer-organized, family-centered weekend that celebrates connection, generosity, and adventure.
It’s a place where:
Children are given room to roam, stretch their independence, and test their growing boundaries in a safe and supportive environment.
Friendships deepen — across classrooms, grade levels, and families.
Parents and caregivers slow down, connect with one another, and experience the calming beauty of nature together.
Many parents say that during campout, they hardly see their children — not because they aren’t nearby, but because they’re fully immersed in play, exploration, and community. It’s a rare and beautiful glimpse into how our children move through the world when they feel safe, confident, and connected.
Campout offers both free play and thoughtfully organized activities, all supported by BCSS family volunteers who make this weekend possible. While children are free to explore, each child must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the event.
This is more than just a weekend away. It is a living expression of who we are as a school community.

More than twenty years ago, a small group of Creative Science School families gathered with a simple idea: spend a weekend together in nature to build connection beyond the classroom. What began as a modest family campout — shared meals, open fields, and children roaming freely — quickly became a cherished annual tradition rooted in trust, community, and the belief that kids thrive when given space to explore. As we continue this legacy as Bridger Creative Science School, Campout remains a volunteer-organized celebration of independence, belonging, and the joyful spirit that has always defined our school community.
ASCO check-in begins at 5:00 PM. If you arrive earlier, we encourage you to explore and enjoy the local attractions in town, as we are unable to provide a waiting area before check-in.
