Everyone has the right to:
-be treated with compassion and respect
-be themselves
-be safe physically and emotionally
-be allowed to speak openly
-be empowered to remind others of the community agreements
It is everyone’s responsibility to:
-be respectful and courteous
-treat each other with fairness
-communicate clearly and listen graciously
-be accountable for our own actions and the actions of our guests
-presume good intent
Be Safe
Parents and caregivers remain responsible for their children and stay aware and reachable.
All adults are empowered to calmly redirect unsafe behavior in the moment.
Safety overrides debate. If something is unsafe, it stops immediately.
If redirection does not resolve the issue, a parent will be contacted.
A “reset” means a parent helps their child regulate (snack, water, rest, safety reminders) before returning to activities.
Be Responsible
We clean up after ourselves.
We follow Cedar Ridge rules and posted guidelines.
We supervise children in all water areas and higher-risk environments.
We use shared equipment and supplies appropriately.
We honor parking and access rules that keep pedestrians safe.
Be Respectful
We treat people, property, and the land with care.
We assume good intent and approach concerns with curiosity.
We model calm, constructive communication.
We respect Cedar Ridge staff and their shared living/working space.
We protect the joy of the weekend by avoiding unnecessary conflict.
Cedar Ridge is a beautiful space that we must leave in better condition than we found it. Any intentional damage, including vandalism, will result in immediate removal from the event for the individual and their family. Additionally, those responsible for vandalism will not be invited back to future events. Damage to Cedar Ridge property is unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Dispose of all garbage properly, pack out recyclables, and return all dishes to the kitchen. Do not leave broken or damaged camping equipment at Cedar Ridge—these items must be taken home for disposal. Everyone shares the responsibility of keeping the facility clean and beautiful.
For the comfort and safety of all attendees, pets are not permitted on the property. Please make arrangements to leave your pets at home, as this policy is strictly enforced by Cedar Ridge.
Vehicles may enter the lower field only for loading and unloading supplies. Afterward, all vehicles must be moved to the designated parking area before setting up tents.
Attendees staying in bunkhouses may use the overflow parking near the Camp Store temporarily while loading or unloading.
All vehicles must be parked in the designated lot by 10 PM on Friday.
Vehicles are only allowed to enter the lower field on Friday and Sunday, when Traffic Control attendees are on duty.
Vehicles are NOT ALLOWED into the lower field on Saturday. Campers arriving on Saturday must plan accordingly and carry gear into the lower field.
Traffic Control and access to the lower field by vehicle resume at 8:00 AM on Sunday.
These guidelines are in place to protect pedestrian safety, especially children moving freely throughout camp.
All posted rules at Cedar Ridge must be followed, including but not limited to pool closure times, slide restrictions, and game room access. These guidelines are in place for everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
While lifeguards are present at the pool, parents and guardians must actively supervise their children in all water areas, including the creek. There are unsupervised access points on the property—please stay vigilant. Note: All ASCO attendees are required to stay on Camp Cedar Ridges side of the creek. The bank on the other side is private property not owned by Camp Cedar Ridge.
Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas. This is a school-centered family event, and we expect all attendees to prioritize the comfort and well-being of others, especially children.
Cedar Ridge has employees who live onsite and support our event. Be respectful of their space, and remind your children to do the same. This is a shared environment, and we all have a responsibility to treat it with care.
Stay off the blue slide unless you are actively sliding down it. Do not climb on the top part of the slide, the fence posts, or any area that is marked as closed. Use the slide properly or stay away from it. Unsafe behavior will be calmly redirected in the moment.
This is a community event, and we expect everyone to treat each other with kindness and respect. If you have questions or concerns, ask them thoughtfully and with curiosity. Before reacting, pause and consider your intent. Approach conversations with an open mind, assume good intent, and engage constructively. This weekend is about connection, not confrontation.
The wooded areas are beautiful but dark, uneven, and filled with natural obstacles. If you or your children choose to explore at night, you do so at your own risk. Be aware of your surroundings, bring a flashlight, and ensure children are supervised.
The dining hall is only available for BCSS ASCO attendees during meal times. All other times are prohibited.
Note: The Fireside Room connected to the dining hall is available at all times, with the exception of quiet hours.
We depend on your cooperation to uphold these community agreements and ensure that ASCO remains a welcoming, safe, and joyful event for everyone. Thank you for your commitment to being Safe, Responsible, and Respectful.
Let’s work together to make this year’s gathering a success.
