We faced a daunting scenario - transitioning 2,500 users to a new, tightly integrated email system within just 4 months when the vendor responsible for migrating 5,000 interconnected applications had failed to deliver as planned under their 12-month timeline. Delaying email migration until applications were ready would lead to pushes in user training and trigger numerous downstream expenses.
Through intense efforts running dual developer shifts day and night, we managed the migration of all applications before the training deadline, sidestepping the looming logistical issues. With the bulk of the lift completed ahead of schedule, I further advised on infrastructure adjustments like adding clustered servers to heighten performance and resilience for the boosted user load.
