After an expensive consultation with a world renowned workflow consultant "Parts Distribution" was without an automated workflow.
Fernando Flores, the pioneer of automated workflow acting through his firm BDA Associates, had recently conducted a workflow analysis for IBM to streamline their parts distribution process. Upon bidding Flores' team farewell, the IBM project leader inquired if BDA offered services to automate such analyses. Fernando replied simply, "We don't do automation."
Having invested substantially in a specialized analysis from the world-famous expert, IBM began searching for a provider capable of interpreting the assessment and automating it. This became my inaugural project with WorkGroup Associates Inc. Our solution entailed implementing a workflow software leveraging Language Action methodology - the framework developed by Flores and Winograd that served as the foundation for the BDA analysis.
