Band

Brenham Junior High has 4 bands:  1 Symphonic Band and 3 Concert Bands.  Each of these groups perform at pep rallies, at some junior high football games, concerts, contests and the Maifest Parade. All students who sign up for a band are placed into a specific band by the directors. There will be a financial obligation with the class (instrument purchase/rental, book(s), and supplies as needed).

Students who have not been in band before must get approval from a band director before they register for band.  There will not be a class dedicated to beginners on this campus.  Students wanting to start band for the first time as 7th or 8th graders must get tested on an instrument with a band director before they sign up.  We will not start percussion (drums) or saxophone at this campus.  Students joining band for the first time will be given minimal choices when selecting instruments and must be willing to work independently to catch up with the class.  Students new to band will also need to plan for the financial obligations of the class. (instrument purchase/rental, book(s), and supplies as needed.) Students who do not meet these requirements before school starts will be moved to another elective choice.
