US History focuses on United States history from Reconstruction to the late 20th century. The following themes are emphasized in this course: an understanding of US government, changes in social and cultural values, social reform movements, the extension of civil rights, the labor movement, the growth of government, and the effects of growing international involvements, and the diversity of ethnic and racial origins of Americans and the impact of this diversity on the development of the nation.
US History is a year-long course. A passing grade each semester will satisfy Bremerton High School’s US History graduation requirement.
