About Ms. Justice

About Ms. Justice:

I have been teaching Social Studies at Bremerton High School since 2005. During my time at BHS I have taught all grade levels (9th-12th) and a variety of courses including World History, Civics, General Psychology, Contemporary World Issues, AP Art History, AP Human Geography, Forensic Psychology, AP US History, and AP Psychology. This year I am teaching US History, AP US History, General Psychology, AP Psychology, and Forensic Psychology. I am excited to help students explore these subjects and learn more about the world around them through the study of social sciences.

I was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia - home of the Marshall University Thundering Herd! (You may have heard of Marshall or my hometown if you have seen the movie We Are Marshall starring Matthew McConaughey.)

I am married to a fellow BHS Social Studies teacher, Mr. Raymond, and I am a mom to two wonderful daughters, Sarah (BHS class of 2011) and Amanda (BHS class of 2012). I have 2 grandsons, Dylan & Theodore -- maybe they will be BHS graduates in 2038 & 2040! ;-)

Aside from my family, some of my favorite things in the world are Wonder Woman, Star Wars, chips & salsa, the color green, documentaries, '80s music, kind people, and perfect, 68-degree, sun-shiney days!

Education:

I received my bachelors in Secondary Education (with endorsements in both History and Social Studies) from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma in 2004. In 2008, I also completed my masters degree in Education.

As a student I always enjoyed learning new things, and tried to balance hard work with fun extracurricular activities. In addition to academics, I enjoyed playing the alto saxophone in band for 7 years and studying art as well. I actually started out as an Art Education major my freshman year in college, but later changed my mind and decided to teach Social Studies instead.

I also read a lot and attend conferences whenever possible in order to further my knowledge about the subjects that I teach.
