Grading &
Assignments

AP Psychology adheres to the Bremerton School District Standards-Based Grading and Reporting Policy. All grades will be determined based on evidence from assessments that measure achievement on course, state, and national standards.

Formative Assignments: You will complete a variety of formative assignments that will help you learn the content and prepare for summative quizzes, unit tests, and projects. These formative assignments could include: textbook reading assignments, supplementary reading assignments, in-class notes, graphic organizers, class discussions, weekly Terms & Concepts (T&C), and activities.
Homework: Due to the advanced rigor and pacing of this class, you should expect to have approximately 1 hour of homework each day.

Semester grades will be calculated based on the following percentages:

Summative Unit
Assessments: 60%

Multiple Choice Quizzes & Practice FRQs: 20%

Summative Classwork/ Independent Work: 15%

You will always be given specific guidelines, grading criteria, and due dates for all summative assessments.

Skills for
Success: 5%

All assignments will be posted in Skyward when they are graded. You are encouraged to access your grade in Skyward at least once a week. If you have any questions or concerns about your grade, reach out to Ms. Justice as soon as possible.

Quiz & Test Make-Ups & Retakes

Missed Quizzes: You can miss up to 3 quizzes first semester & up to 2 quizzes second semester due to absence without penalty. Due to the rigorous pacing of the course, any additional missed Quizzes must be made up within 2 school days.

Missed Tests: It is your responsibility to reschedule any unit test missed because of an absence. Due to the rigorous pacing of the course, Unit Tests must be made up within 3 school days. Make-up times must be arranged in advance with Ms. Justice. Due to the amount of material that must be covered during class, quizzes and tests must be made up outside of class time.

Test Corrections & Retakes: Test scores can be improved with test corrections (due date will be provided when receiving the corrected exam). Test re-takes are available only after completing corrections (following the assigned format) and having a conference with Ms. Justice to discuss how to improve the test score.
