The Breakthrough Instructional Coach Evaluation Rubric is a concise observational tool designed to be used frequently by Site Directors/Program Staff  (both summatively & formatively, depending on the situation) to support Instructional Coaches’ growth throughout their time at Breakthrough.

 Objectives of the ICER (in concert with the BIT/REDI training modules)

Support ICs to…

• develop and refine coaching skills 

• use data-informed coaching practices to grow Teaching Fellows 

• create a human-centered learning community for Teaching Fellows 

• productively engage in site-specific community activities 

How the ICER should be used

As with the previous Breakthrough ICER, this rubric is designed to be used by Breakthrough Affiliate Staff responsible for monitoring and managing Instructional Coaches both formatively and summatively, as outlined below:
