Introduction to agriculture
1st Year FFA members
Overview of California agriculture - careers in agriculture, cultural practices, introduction to plant and animal sciences. FFA Creed, FFA history, and Parliamentary Procedure are taught. Students are able to learn about plants and animals in a hands-on manner through having their own SAE project.
The goal of the course is to provide students with the basic background knowledge and skills necessary to enroll in Agriculture Communication, Animal or Plant Science. Additionally, this course prepares students with leadership, public speaking skills, and agriculture knowledge.

Ag. Mechanics
Class for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year FFA members
This course is very hands-on and explains how to work with power tools. They learn plumbing, woodwork, how to weld, and many more life skills.
The goal of the course is to provide students with the basic background knowledge and skills necessary to enroll in trade schools and or be a basic mechanic this course also teaches safety in all situations and how to properly do things the safe way while still being efficient.

plant science
Class for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year FFA members
It covers the theories and principles related to Plant and Soil Science. In class, students will learn about the structure and growth processes of plants.
The goal of this course is to successfully prepare students who plan on majoring in agriculture science at a four-year college or university.

Class for 3rd and 4th year FFA members
This course explains is a application of plant cultural practices in a Hydroponic Greenhouse setting. Student will grow and market produce and learn about the greenhouse industry.
The goal of this course is to successfully prepare students who plan on majoring in agriculture science at a four-year college or university.

animal science
Class for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year FFA members
It is designed to explore the animal science industry. Students will learn the steps involved in producing livestock products for consumers, animal wellbeing, and food safety.
The goal of this course is to help students gain a wider knowledge of livestock. It will potentially help when working with SAE projects

This course allows students to work at the Student Animal Lab.
The goal of this course is to teach students animal daily gain, conversion ratios, learn proper animal acre, and how to judge livestock

Mrs.Taylor
Mrs.Taylor serves as an instructor and advisor for the Brawley FFA Chapter. She graduated from Fresno State with a major in Animal Science and then attended Cal Poly Pomona to complete her Agriculture Education credential. She has been teaching at BUHS for more than 20 years.

As Chapter Advisor, I look forward to working with chapter members to keep Brawley FFA the best! We are relying on you to make this year a success! The curriculum is on the cutting edge and our facilities rival many junior colleges only to compliment the already highly successful FFA Chapter.
Once again we are certain that the Brawley FFA is going to continue its success. You, the chapter members, will decide how active or successful the chapter will be this year by your participation. We would like this year to be the best year you ever had in school. The FFA program is the greatest youth organization in the world!
Ms. monita
Ms. Monita serves as an instructor and advisor for the Brawley FFA Chapter. She graduated from New Mexico State with her Masters in Agriculture Education. She was a 4-year member of the Brawley FFA and calls Brawley home. She teaches the Agriculture mechanics and Animal Science Pathways.
