Entering kindergarten is a pivotal moment in a child's educational journey, setting the foundation for acquiring essential social, emotional, and academic skills. In this new environment, it's crucial for children to feel secure and valued, fostering a sense of belonging that encourages a lifelong love for learning.
Parents of incoming Kindergarten students are invited to join the faculty and staff of WES for a comprehensive overview of what to expect during this important transitional year. Information will be provided about the school's schedule, educational philosophy for kindergarten, logistics of their child's day, and the support services offered. Parents will be able to walk through the building, visit a kindergarten classroom, and meet key staff members.
During Kindergarten screening, students will join other future kindergarteners to spend time in the classroom. This will give teachers an opportunity to observe students and get a feel for kindergarten readiness skills.
Parents will have a chance to meet other kindergarten parents while they wait for their children in the gym.
Students with last names A-L will attend from 9:30-10:15
