We offer several groups of electives:

Family & Consumer Science Courses
Others: Including custom-built electives, ACT or SAT prep, High School Foundations, and more!
Financial Literacy is a one semester Elective, currently required for graduation.
There are three platforms students can choose electives from Anchor, IDLA, and a few BYU Independent Study courses.
Electives can also include additional core classes like Geography, World Civilizations, Ancient History, extra science, etc. We are often asked if Driver's Education can be used as an elective. Driver's Ed is available through IDLA as a 1/2 credit. It can only be taken as an overload class (meaning your 7t7th-periodlass). That is the only Driver's Education class that can be listed as a class on your schedule. Please note that individual assignments and grading rubrics may change each semester. Students will be asked to meet the requirements for each class, during the semester they register for the class.
The IDLA website has many other class offerings. IDLA classes generally have a $100 fee unless taken as an overload or a Dual Credit class.
Health is the science of YOU! How do you work, how do others work, and how do we all work together? Health and Physical Education work together to help prepare students to maintain a healthy and physically active lifestyle.
“Intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.” John F. Kennedy
One semester of Health is required for graduation, but we offer two semesters of Health and a variety of PE classes!
Health
This one semester class is required for graduation. Outside curriculum isn't needed as students spend their time researching and applying the concepts they learn during each week's Mastery assignment.
PE A/B
This introductory PE class requires students to complete 4 logs, as well as other research-based, standards-aligned assessments. The 4 logs include a sleep log, a heart rate log, a physical activity log and a Step log. A step counter, either watch or other digital counter, is needed for the last log, and can be ordered using supplemental learning funds.
PE Sports
This course is ideal for students participating in Organized Sports. Throughout the course, students learn more about the sport they are involved with and can work towards becoming a certified referee.
PE Weight Lifting
PE Weight Lifting requires students to be consistently involved in Weight Workouts. Students will keep logs of their weight routines, as well as completing other assessments.
Business Computer Apps 1 and 2
This class introduces students to Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Students learn a variety of skills using that software along with assignments with email etiquette and business careers.
Introduction to Interactive Media
This is the first class in the Graphic Design & Marketing pathway. This class was formerly called Fundamentals of Media but it will now focus on introducing students to elements of Graphic Design through Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. All curriculum and materials are included in the class. Students should expect 2-5 assignments a week, usually adobe photoshop or Illustrator tutorials and projects. This is a fun class and a great way to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Fundamentals of Information Systems
Students will learn about the founding concepts of Information Technology (IT). Brief overviews of hardware and software, organizing data and information, operating systems, principles of networking, and more will be given. Students also explore various career paths within the Information technology field. This class is required for all Information Systems CTE pathways.
Cyber Security
This is a new pathway for the 2025-2026 school year.
This is a two semester course focused on coding and software programming! Students work in Java, and use Github to keep a record of their coding progress. All curricular materials will be provided for these courses.
Family & Consumer Science Courses
Foods & Nutrition
This one semester class has two weekly assignments, one based on nutrition, and one is a Food Lab (which requires video or pictures of the students completing the Food Lab). This class also requires students to get their Food Handler's Safety Permit and is a great introduction to anyone interested in Foods!
Intro to Culinary Arts A & B
This year long course also requires two assignments a week. It requires Foods & Nutrition to be completed prior to beginning this course.
Child Development
This one semester class is a good introduction for anyone interested in Education or Family Science courses for college. Students must be in 10th grade or above before enrolling in this course.
