A follow-up meeting for the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking mentoring took place on August 13, 2024, at BPSU Main Campus's Electronic Section, First Floor Library. This was a follow-up to an earlier online meeting that had to be done virtually because of a typhoon. More in-depth, in-person mentoring from Tarlac Agricultural University faculty membersโan institution that has already attained an impressive overall rank of 801โ1000 in the THE Impact Rankings for 2024โwas made possible by the follow-up session. The meeting commenced at 9:00 AM, with select employees from different offices of BPSU in attendance. These participants were primarily tasked with gathering and providing data related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) involved in the THE Impact Ranking, under the guidance of the Office of Quality Assurance and the International Relations Office.ย
Mr. Jerome initiated the mentoring session, leading the discussion on each specific SDG, with Mr. Julius providing additional support. They outlined the necessary documents required for each SDG and identified the offices responsible for providing the relevant data. This step-by-step guidance was crucial in clarifying the process and ensuring that all involved offices understood their roles in the data collection process. As the discussion progressed, participants engaged actively, contributing insights and clarifying their responsibilities. Following the detailed review of each SDG, a consensus was reached on which SDGs the university could realistically pursue for the upcoming ranking, based on the available data from the year 2023. After careful consideration, it was decided that BPSU would focus on a total of eight SDGs. The responsibility for leading this initiative was assigned to the Office of Quality Assurance and the International Relations Office. The meeting concluded at 1:00 PM, after a productive session that laid a solid foundation for BPSUโs participation in the THE Impact Ranking. A lunch was provided, allowing participants to network and discuss any remaining questions informally.ย
This meeting marks a significant step forward in BPSUโs efforts to enhance its global standing and contribute meaningfully to the Sustainable Development Goals through the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
