Empowering Students Through Financial Aid and Scholarships
BPSU observed a rise in its student population during AY 2024-2025. ย From a total of 20,020 of which 11,008 are females and 9,012 are males, 75% of these students come from households earning below โฑ120,000 annually.ย
Bataan Peninsula State University actively supports students from low-income households through targeted scholarship programs and financial aid initiatives designed to help them complete their education while meeting essential needs. In realization of this objective, BPSU has partnered with national agencies and developed its own programs to uplift students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.ย
As of AY 2024-2025, a total of 2,398 scholars were monitored by the Scholarship and Financial Assistance Unit (SFAU). 1,353 of these scholars are female and 1,045 are males. These scholars strive to remain compliant with the scholarship requirements in order to continue receiving the necessary academic and financial support.ย ย ย

BPSU Topnotcher Incentive Program
Bataan Peninsula State University continues to showcase its academic excellence through the strong performance of its graduates in various licensure examinations, with several students not only passing but also earning top ranks. In recognition of these exceptional achievements, the University Student Government supports honoring and rewarding graduates who excel in board and national licensure exams, as their success brings pride and distinction to the institution. To uphold this commitment, Board Resolution No. 71, series of 2022, established the Topnotcher Incentive Program (TIP), a program designed to acknowledge and commend BPSU graduates who secure top 1-10 rankings in licensure examinations.
Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES)
BPSU has placed robust mechanisms to assist students from low-income backgrounds. Recognizing that 75% of its student body comes from households earning below โฑ120,000 annually, the university prioritizes scholarships and financial assistance as key pillars of support. These programs range from government-funded scholarships like the DOST Scholarship Program under the "Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994," which targets deserving students from economically challenged families, to the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) as mandated by Republic Act No. 10931.
The institution has successfully increased the number of scholars from 1,509 in early 2023 to 2,507 by mid-2024, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to sustaining education for underprivileged students. Notably, 2,295 of these scholars are beneficiaries of government support, while 212 receive assistance from private scholarship bodies, reinforcing the comprehensive network BPSU has built for its students.

HOPE Behind Bars
One notable project, the HOPE Behind Bars, initiated in 2010, showcases the universityโs dedication to rehabilitating and empowering Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) through TESDA-certified vocational training. Total enrollment for the First Semester of Academic Year 2024โ2025 rose to 20,020 students, consisting of 11,008 females and 9,012 males. For AY 2023-2024, the population of students in Bataan Peninsula State University soared to 18,012. Majority of the population are females, comprising 55.85% of the total population across the campuses of the university, while 44.25% are males.ย ย
The enrollment rate is highest at the College of Engineering and Architecture with a total of 3,864 students, of which 1,571 are females and 2,293 are males. The College of Education follows with a total population of 3,773 students, of which majority are females with a total number of 2,553. The College with the third highest enrollment is the College of Business and Accountancy with a population of 3,646 students. The student population in the other colleges are as follows: College of Computer Studies (formerly College of Information and Communications Technology) - 1,502; College of Allied Health Sciences (formerly College of Nursing and Midwifery) - 1,480; College of Technology - 1,446; College of Social and Behavioral Sciences - 1,094; College of Agriculture and Fisheries - 823; and College of Arts and Sciences - 384.
The number of female students is highest at the College of Education and lowest at the College of Arts and Sciences. Males dominate the population of the College of Engineering and Architecture while the College of Arts and Sciences has the least number of male students among the nine (9) colleges of the university.ย
