Reading
Introduction
We will be reading trickster tales over the next several weeks together online. Trickster tales are a genre within folklore that have been used to teach lessons about values held in a community. They include a trickster, a character in the story, who uses their intellect and skills with speech to play tricks and assert their identity.
As you read these tales, think of the following questions:
How can speech be used to assert one’s identity?
How can words be used for resistance and change?
How is speech a function of resilience?

Writing about Science
Did you ever wonder...
How a snowflake forms? How a volcano erupts? How satellites take pictures from space?
These are all questions about phenomena that can be answered with Science. Over the next several weeks we will explore questions that can be answered with a written explanation.
