Introduction

We will be reading folktales over the next several weeks together online. Folktales are oral stories that have been passed on over time and eventually written. The themes of folktales include the friendship, kindness and appreciation (thankful for something or someone).

As you read these tales, think of the following questions:

• What defines friendship?

• What does kindness look like?

• What can be appreciated?

Did you ever wonder...

How a snowflake forms? How a volcano erupts? How satellites take pictures from space?

These are all questions about phenomena that can be answered with Science. Over the next several weeks we will explore questions that can be answered with a written explanation.
