Arrival & Dismissal

Our school day begins at 8:20. Staff is not on duty until 8:20, so please do not drop off your child until 8:20, unless they are eating a hot breakfast in the cafeteria. Students who are eating breakfast may enter the school building at 8:00; however, they must remain in the cafeteria or immediately go outside once they finish. It is important that we have all children arrive on time so that we can start our day promptly and to ensure that children do not miss any instruction. First grade students line up in front of the school and will be escorted inside by their teachers. Parents are allowed to support students in the coat area, but first graders are expected to enter and transition into the classroom independently.

We begin dismissal at 3:20. Students who are "walkers" are dismissed from the playground. If the playground is covered in snow, students are dismissed outside of the main entrance. If there is any change to your child's dismissal procedure, you must send in a note in the morning or call the school before 3:00.

Uniform

The Murphy School uniform is now a Navy Blue shirt with khaki pants. Our Murphy Thunder t-shirts can be worn as part of the school uniform. Uniforms can be purchased in the office and by completing an order form.

MACC After-school

Please check with the main office if you are interested in after school opportunities for your child at the Murphy School. The MACC program runs from K-8. Students are able to receive additional homework support from their after school teacher and engage in extracurricular activities.

Please refer to the Boston Public Schools website to learn how to access your child's grades, schedule, attendance, etc. through the Student Information System (SIS).
