Work expectations

Students are expected to complete academic work daily.

Feel free to contact me during the day, as needed. I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible!

Submitting school work

Everyday, students will have different reading, writing, math learning options to choose from in their weekly checklist. In addition to tracking school work on these checklists, I will be able to monitor student work and progress on the online learning websites/apps they log into.

I will be checking Raz-Kids, Prodigy, Splash Math, Get Epic several times throughout the school week to monitor students' progress. I will also stay in contact with families through Class Dojo.

Please reach out to me if you are having any trouble and if you have questions.

Using the checklists:

Your child needs to earn 10 points each day. S/he does not need to do every activity everyday. Your child could pick two activities from each category and earn points that way.

See the example here:

At the end of the week, you can message me a picture of your child's checklist so I can monitor what s/he has worked on.

You can also hold on to the paper copies of the checklists and send them back to school on April 27, 2020.

I expect students to still turn in quality work everyday. That means their classwork should be neat; written with Fundations letters; sentences should be complete ideas that start with a capital letter and end with punctuation (. ? !); illustrations should begin with pencils before neatly being colored in, and students should never complete work written in pen or markers.

Reminder: I do not expect your child to complete any work all in one day. In school, we usually spend a week on each writing project or on stations work.
