Social Distancing

In MA, we must spend at least the next few weeks practicing social distancing.

But what does that mean??

Social distancing is the idea of limiting the amount of interactions you have with non-family members. In order to slow down and stop the spread of Coronavirus, Public Health Officials have advised citizens to spend the next 3 weeks at home. This goes into effect on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. When it is necessary to go out in public (to the store or on a walk), you should stay at least 6 feet away from others.

What can I do?

○ Practice mindfulness and keep your mind engaged

○ Keep connected to friends and family by texting, calling, and video chatting

○ Get some fresh air whenever you can- have family lunch on the porch or play in the yard

○ Watch movies, read books, build with legos and blocks, draw, play boardgames, daydream, and sing!

○ Learn something new! (check google and youtube to learn how to code, sew, draw characters... anything!)

Social distancing does NOT mean vacation!

While it may be hard and stressful to be at home for so many weeks, it is important that families do not treat these next few weeks like early summer vacation. That means we should not be having playdates with friends or meeting up at parks to play in groups. Please keep your family happy and safe, but also respect the safety and needs of others in our community.
