Focus/Theme: ESL teachers will continue to support student progress towards language acquisition goals to the fullest extent possible during this time. We will be monitoring student work on Google Classroom and checking in with English as a Second Language students via email on a regular basis. We will update as soon as more information is available regarding how to provide further specialized instruction for our students.
ELA: We encourage our students to read a wide variety of texts at their instructional levels, both in hard copy and online. Whenever possible, we encourage listening to audio for accessing core texts that may be above your student's independent reading level. Please see resources below.
Writing: We encourage students to participate to the fullest extent possible in writing tasks. Parents can use general reminders such as brainstorming before writing, utilizing graphic organizers to plan and proofreading/editing before submitting.
Math: We encourage students to participate to the fullest extent possible in math activities and tasks. Please see resources below. 5th-8th grade students have access to Moby Max, please reach out to your child's math teacher for login information. We will link math reference sheets and supports shortly.

Upper School Resource Room, Grades 4-8

We will be monitoring student work through the "Google Classroom" platform and checking in with students via email on a regular basis. As more information from the district becomes available, we will update as to how to provide further specialized instruction for our students.
ELA: We encourage our students to read a wide variety of instructional level texts both in hard copy and online. See free resources below. We ask that whenever possible, students access online audio texts to access core texts that may be above their independent reading level. You Tube has many books available, via audiotext.
Writing: We encourage students to participate to the fullest extent possible in assigned writing tasks. General reminders include brainstorming before writing, using graphic organizers to help structure writing, and proofreading and editing work before submitting.
Math: We encourage students to participate to the fullest extent possible in math tasks and activities. Fifth-grade students have access to the online platform MobyMax. We will personally email user names and passwords to students in fifth-grade so they are able to access this platform. Middle school students should have access to MobyMax through their classroom math teacher. We will link in math reference sheets and supports shortly.
