Properties of Light

• Light travels in straight lines.
• Blocking light produces shadows.
• The color black is from the absence of light.
• The closer the object is from light source, the larger the shadow.
• The farther the object is from the light source, the smaller the shadow.

• Light can be reflected off of mirrors.
• Light reflected always creates a V with the mirror.

Bendable mirrors change the direction light moves off of objects changing the appearance to our view.

• Mylar reflects white light off the Mylar top from a light shined directly above.
• The color Black color is where light is absorbed completely and not reflected.

• Mylar breaks white light into its component colors when light is shined on it from the side at different angles.
