Counseling Services
Bonita Unified School District counseling services support students with academic support and planning, support for personal/social issues at school, support and intervention for attendance issues, therapeutic support for individuals and groups, crisis intervention and response, assessment and identification, risk management, wellness education, and wellness resources and information.

Bonita Unified Counselors - Mental Health Support Specialists
Mental Health Support Specialists are licensed counselors (most commonly LMFT or LCSW) and specialize in therapeutic support for individuals and small groups, the development and implementation of foundational wellness systems for all students, and the development of wellness resources and education for the community. Licensed counselors can also conduct risk assessments and participate in crisis response and intervention with students.

Bonita Unified Counselors - Guidance (School Services Coordinators)
Guidance Counselors are credentialed counselors (most commonly PPS) and specialize in academic support and planning, support for students struggling with an academic, behavioral or social-emotional issue that is hindering academic progress, collaboration with students and families to identify future goals and plans, and the development and implementation of education and resources to assist students and families with planning for higher education, employment in a trade or technical field, or enlistment in the military. Credentialed counselors will also serve as part of a team to support students and staff during crisis response.
