About Student Services
WHAT WE DO
The Bonita Unified School District Office of Student Services oversees the following areas within the district:
Child welfare and attendance
Support for youth in foster care
Support for students and families experiencing homelessness (McKinney-Vento)
School-based health services
School-based social work services
School-based counseling services and community-based mental health partnerships
Discipline procedures, including expulsions and involuntary transfers
Attendance monitoring and intervention, including School Attendance Review Board (SARB) hearings
New student enrollment
Transfer permits for enrollment in a school other than the school of residence
Support and process for students with a 504 Plan
Support and process for students in need of the district home/hospital program
Oversight of operations related to communicable disease
Complaints related to student procedures, records challenges, and Title IX student issues
