Why Should You Take Dual Enrollment?
Why Should You Take Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment is a great option for students for many reasons:
1. Builds confidence in their ability to complete a college level class
2. GPA boost
3. Receive high school elective credit (if needed)
4. Receive college credit (all college classes become part of your permanent college transcript)

There are a few options that we recommend:
1. General Education
Taking classes that fulfill the college level general education requirements is a great place to start. This will put you ahead when you enter into your first year of college. We recommend you take general education courses from the Cal-GETC approved courses.
Cal-GETC is a series of courses that prospective transfer students from California Community Colleges may use to satisfy the lower-division/general education breadth requirements at both the California State University and the University of California.

2. Enrichment Activities
Take classes that are not offered at GSHS that will expand your knowledge of different activities (e.g., film or kickboxing!).

Enrolling in one of the four campuses within the Los Rios Community College District is easy. Please see your counselor. Click the button below to learn more about this process.
***If you would like to attend a California Community College that is not part of the Los Rios Community College District, please make an appointment with your counselor, as the process is a bit different for each community college.
