The Hope Squad Program is research based and recognized by the Suicide Prevention Resource Center's Best Practices Registry.
The national Hope Squad suicide prevention model uses The Hope Approach gatekeeper training to help members develop foundational skills for recognizing and responding to mental health concerns. This is paired with with the efforts listed to the left to reduce the risk of suicide. Core suicide prevention competencies are woven throughout the course to both build knowledge and skills that empower students to connect peers to trusted adults and other mental health resources.
