Hope Squad members spent time examining the school culture of Boise High. They surveyed the student body. Based on this work, they developed a vision for a Boise High that is safe, inclusive, supportive, and that fosters mental wellness. They then went farther to set specific goals they believe will help move Boise High toward this vision.
Boise High's Hope Squad recognizes that each of us can relate in some way to feelings of lost confidence, of being overwhelmed, of being unseen. We recognize that each of us navigate individual challenges relating to mental health. We endeavor to be a resource to help our community members move through these challenges with increased confidence and strength. We aim to cultivate a community where people lean on each other for support, and where they find kindness, empathy, inclusivity and belonging. We aim to promote actions that lead to mental wellness. We aim to raise awareness of ways to prevent suicide. And most of all, our Hope Squad aims to promote the good that already exists at Boise High, while instigating positive, healthy change so that our community feels less stigma, feels increasingly safe, and feels hopeful that even on the most difficult of days, better ones are ahead.
