Welcome Year 9

Rotation System will follow a Junior rotation timetable. The total of the lessons is the same as last Semester, a total of 12 lessons.

Options:

Rotation System will follow a Junior rotation timetable which will change every other term. Students will get the opportunity to explore some new subjects like Hospitality (Food), Hard Materials (Wood and Metal), Digital Technology (computers), Fine Arts, Music, Maori, etc.

The basic Design and Visual Communication skills are taught in Year 9 & Year 10 as an introduction to NCEA work. These include the basic skills and knowledge of:

Sketch-up computer aided design work.
Freehand sketching and rendering.
Shape, form, pattern, textures.
Design Eras Timeline
Influential designer/architect
Introduction to bio-mimetics (ask nature how?)
Rendering - Shadows and shading.
