This feature is only available in iPadOS18
You can have your family member’s iPhone detect nudity in images and videos before they’re shared in Messages, AirDrop, Contact Posters, and FaceTime video messages. Nude photos or videos can also be detected when they’re selected to share in some third-party apps.
Note: For children under 13 in a Family Sharing group, Communication Safety is turned on by default.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Screen Time.
Scroll down and tap the name of your family member.
Tap Communication Safety, then turn on Communication Safety.
You may need to enter the Screen Time passcode.
If the child chooses to view or send the photo or video, Communication Safety confirms that they’re sure they want to do so and will suggest alternatives, again reassuring the child that it’s OK not to participate and that more help is available.
If the child is under the age of 13, they will also need to enter the Screen Time passcode when they choose to view the sensitive content. This additional protection starts in iPadOS 18.
