GCSE Physical Education is an opportunity to immerse passionate young people in the world of sport, health and exercise. The Edexcel course is both practical, and academic in nature, and allows students to critically analyse, and evaluate their physical performance whilst applying their practical ability across a range of activities.
The theoretical side of the course equips students with the skills, knowledge and understanding to further develop and challenge their understanding of physical performance. Students will explore the impact of health, fitness and well-being on the body. Related to a sport of their choice, students will plan, analyse and evaluate a Personal Exercise Plan (PEP) with a focus on the systems and methods required to improve their individual sporting performance. The practical content aims at physically challenging students in order to develop and apply advanced skills in a range of team and individual performances.
