  • Don't forget to use a different colour for each new idea

  • Group the same idea under one node and go deeper, every node could have it's own mind map underneath

  • You don't have to focus on making mind maps tidy

  • Share the finished mind map with your friends so that they can add to it as well

[Flash Cards]

  • Use both sides of the card.

  • One side verbal and one side visual, or one side question and the other the answer ect.

  • Use typography, colours, lines, arrows and shapes, leave ‘space’! Eyes love space!

  • Use your sketchnote icons.

  • Use images: draw or download pictures.

  • Use bullet points, abbreviate, 3 dots etc.

  • Keep it simple: max ideas, min words, KEY words.

[Sketchnoting]

  • Keep practising using sketchnotes to find out which style works best for you ie. More shapes, more drawings, more arrows or more colours etc.

  • Main components of a good sketchnote are; Typography, Bulletpoints, Connectors, Frames, Shadows & Colour and People.

  • A picture can be worth a 1000 words, but not sketchnotes, keep them simple, puposeful and rememberable.

  • Remember to use the most important key words as a cue

  • Use a variety of colours to distinguish between each main point

  • You can use sketches in the note taking column as well as just text
