Group the same idea under one node and go deeper, every node could have it's own mind map underneath
You don't have to focus on making mind maps tidy
Share the finished mind map with your friends so that they can add to it as well

[Flash Cards]
Use both sides of the card.
One side verbal and one side visual, or one side question and the other the answer ect.
Use typography, colours, lines, arrows and shapes, leave ‘space’! Eyes love space!
Use your sketchnote icons.
Use images: draw or download pictures.
Use bullet points, abbreviate, 3 dots etc.
Keep it simple: max ideas, min words, KEY words.

Keep practising using sketchnotes to find out which style works best for you ie. More shapes, more drawings, more arrows or more colours etc.
Main components of a good sketchnote are; Typography, Bulletpoints, Connectors, Frames, Shadows & Colour and People.
A picture can be worth a 1000 words, but not sketchnotes, keep them simple, puposeful and rememberable.
