Tryout Procedures

Dance Clinic practices will be held Monday, January 30th-Wednesday, February 1stth in the Gladys Porter ECHS Dance Studio. JV clinics will be from 4:30pm-5:30pm, and Varsity will be 5:30pm-6:30pm.

Candidates should have all paperwork submitted prior to dance clinics.

Candidates should sign in and out every day.

Candidates should arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to warm up and get organized..

Basic skills and choreography will be taught and rehearsed during the clinic. Candidates will be coached on technique, performance, and audition etiquette.

The formal audition will take place in the Gladys Porter ECHS Dance Studio on Thursday, February 2nd, at 5:00pm.

Candidates should wear black dance attire, proper dance shoes, and have their hair pulled back in a bun or low ponytail. Candidates must wears masks during auditions.

The judging panel will consist of three or more impartial dance professionals. Candidates are scored by the judges without the input of the Dance Director. A Gladys Porter ECHS administrator will oversee the audition to ensure transparency and consistency in scoring.

Candidates will audition in groups of three, and are dismissed upon completion of audition.

Results will be posted on the audition website within 48 hours of tryouts.
