Code of Conduct/ Rehearsals

Behavior Expectations

Membership in the Porter Belles and Beaus Dance Team is a privilege. Students are expected to conduct themselves as role models and representatives of their campus and community. Discipline issues will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. After a written warning is issued, the dance director will collaborate with administration regarding any situation that persists. While we will offer our dancers the opportunity to learn and grow from mistakes, any behavior that threatens the physical, mental, or emotional well-being of others (bullying, theft, etc.) will result in immediate expulsion from the team. Dancers are generally expected to:

  1. Attend rehearsals consistently and punctually.

  2. Follow instructions as given by the dance director and student leaders.

  3. Speak and behavior respectfully.

  4. Refrain from abusive or derogatory language, both in-person and online.

  5. Abide by the campus and district Code of Conduct.

  6. Dancers must maintain a passing average every six weeks to maintain membership in the team.

4. The dance director has the right to dismiss a Porter Belle/Beau from any activity, performance, practice or event for any reason deemed necessary.

5. It is prohibited to do makeup, text, eat, or talk on the phone during a practice.

6. Standards for rehearsal attire will be set by the dance director and communicated with the team. Adherence is expected, as all decisions made in accordance with best practice in dance education.
