Birdville FFA offers a wide range of events that students can participate in. If you have questions about opportunities that are available, please reach out to your ag teacher.

CDE's- Career Development Events

Career Development Events build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to apply their knowledge in practical settings. These events are designed to help a member prepare for a career in agriculture by testing and challenging the student's technical, leadership, and teamwork skills, as well as their knowledge of the subject matter. CDEs answer the question "When will I use this knowledge in the real world?"

Community Service

Students learn the act of kindness and giving back to the community. We encourage students to design community service projects that support their passions. Anyone is welcome to reach out about community service projects.

Convention, Meetings, and Banquets

Students can participate in conventions, meetings, and banquets at the local, district, area, and state levels. Through these events, students are able to network with other students, teachers, colleges/ universities, and industry professionals all over the nation.

Degrees and Awards

Students are able to apply for and receive a variety of degrees and awards based on their participation and supervised agricultural experiences (SAE).

FFA Meetings/Socials

Students have the opportunity to interact with other students through meetings and FFA Social events. They get to have a voice in our student-led organization and share a passion of agriculture.

Floral Contests

Floral design students can compete in contests to create floral arrangements based on a set of rules or a specific theme, with their work judged on creativity, technique, and adherence to guidelines .

LDE's- Leadership Development Events

LDEs focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision-making, communication, and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. Team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms.

Livestock Shows

Students have the opportunity to compete on the local, state, and national levels when it comes to exhibiting many different species of livestock. Through these experiences, students are able to gain valuable lifelong skills such as responsibility, time management, and sportsmanship. Students are also able to access scholarships, funds, and awards through these opportunities.

Rodeo

Rodeos serve as both a competitive event for members to showcase their skills and compete for scholarships. They are an opportunity for students to demonstrate proficiency in agricultural and western heritage skills while fostering sportsmanship and leadership.
