The Bosnian War, or the ethnic cleansing of the Muslim population within Yugoslavia, began in 1992 and reportedly went until 1995 (2013). Understanding how this timeline does not account for each act the occurred from or in connection with the genocide in the former Yugoslavia it helps in attaining an image for the climate which built the foundation for mass atrocities. Seeing what contributed to the dynamics of violence among ethnic groups is a key factor in identifying the origin of future genocidal regimes.
This timeline can help capture the instances of ethnic groups experiencing friction with one another at the micro-dynamic level. The building of hostility which is supported out of fear and distrust in ones government. While this is not always the case for every individual, we can see that there is a group that supports the ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks without the instillment of fear.
